I'm also very interested in WAP support. Once upon a time I had a simple page which showed me the top ten emails in my inbox. It didn't carry out filtering or anything like that, but was fun to play with. Unfortunately I lost the source! It was only connected to Ilohamail by using its IMAP library, otherwise it was disconnected.
Unfortunately I'm too busy to develop nowadays, but I'd love to help you in any other way. Please do keep the list up-to-date if you make any progress, and as far as finding HOWTOs to testing on mobile phones is concerned, I'll try to help as much as I can :-) Good luck!
