Hello,

I'm new to this list, but am looking for a replacement for SquirrelMail,
and IlohaMail looks quite nice. I also like its basic idea behind it.
I'm currently testing it on my webserver, and started with the latest
CVS from SourceForge, also because I'm interested in the GPG feature.

The GPG configuration part said, it would be a complete GPG management
thing with key chain management etc. But when I access that page in my
settings, it first wants to create a new key. I cannot import my current
key at the beginning. So I had it create a key, but half a minute later
(it's a fast machine), it printed some garbage (not a lot, only 3 lines)
in that frame and that's it. Another access to that page and I could
import new public keys. Obviously my generated key wasn't there. Is this
a known thing or so?

Also, when composing new messages, I can select one (out of none, for
now) keys to encrypt to. But what about signing my own e-mail? Is that
done automatically? I mean that would be fine, but there's no indication
about it.

Importing a public key also doesn't work. It prints (in black, as the
garbage above) "Write:", then the normal input form with my public key
in it again. The drop-down list is still empty. 'gpg --list-keys' as
that web user shows an empty list.

Ah, I forgot: PHP 5.1.3/FastCGI with APC enabled. Using file storage for
IlohaMail, that's easier for now. MySQL 4.0 and 5.0 are available. I
could switch down to PHP 4.4/FastCGI or PHP 4.4/CGI for this directory
if required, but am trying to avoid that.

I'll continue testing and see how it runs in a more realistic
environment. But does anybody know right now if it can use PGP/MIME or
will it add those ugly ---BEGIN PGP...--- lines everywhere?

So far, IlohaMail looks good and works really fast. It's a little sad
that development looks ceased for a year now, apart from some
discussions on this list (I quickly browsed the archives). Should I like
it even more, use it in my productive environment and find some time to
look into the source, I probably want to help a little in coding stuff
so that it gets further a little. :)

Regards,
