Basic differences normally amount to slightly different structure of the
fs e.g. same config files in different places, different config files
in different places (ahem) - lack of /etc/rc.d/rc.serial in ye old
redhat5.0, libc version differences, and lastly different packaging.
Redhat uses rpm, Debian uses deb. Also the largest difference is the usual
bunch of rabid distro fanatics who make up for about 80% of overall data
traffic on the Net by simply fighting about their distro. That I think is
the most important part ;)
