Well....!!! Here I go again ! As usual with my Students's Account giving me
oodles of angst I only got to all your msgs/flames/advice today !
So let's set things straight :
#1. I accept my mistake in Labelling the post something to the tune of 'M$
Bashing'. I withdraw my statement ! I stand by my post as a humorous
article. In all probability I possess an aberrant sense of humour.
#2. I just realized that we 'like' Linux, but LOVE M$ (It gets my work done
so I like it ! )
#3. Surprise ! Surprise ! BOTH my posts have been taken from Win9x
Newsletters ! The second in fact was from the Langalist by Fred Langa ....
who I believe is QUITE well know among those who keep in touch with M$
Newsletters ! [ Well, at least I do ... ! I should not generalize ]
Thus, I say 'Hmmm' to all those who have labelled me a 'M$ Hater'. Pl
don't jump to conclusions ! After all the featured posts which so offended
all & sundry WERE in Win9x Newsletters and THOSE I believe could hardly
have been the product of 'M$ Haters', could it ?
#4. I HAVE NOT CONCIOUSLY INTENDED TO MALIGN THE SON/OFFSPRING OF ANY
HUMAN/ANIMAL/QUADRUPED/BIPED/HOMO SAPIEN/HOMO ERECTUS et al ( Including
that of our beloved "Billoo" dear ! ).
I RE-Read my post and discovered that the 'joke' intended MERELY to draw a
'humourous' analogy/simile/metaphoric association (take your pick ...) with
certain personifications of software products. Hence that invalidates all
associations to 'humour-in-bad-taste' responses about Gates' 'poor child' [
'Poor' ? Bugger's RICH !!!] ( Phew !...)
#5. Gimme a break ! I object to being made out like some paedophile hurting
defenseless children or something !
#6. The second post went out when your replies to the first came in, hence
I could not prevent it ! Hence PLEASE REMOVE IT FROM YOUR MAILBOX ASAP !
That should prevent it offending most ppl !
#7. I applaude Indra's timely intervention and swift diplomatic
intervention on apprehension of any problems/flame wars ! Thanks for your
support/advice/<preach>.
I have taken Indra's advice and have already put in filters that will scan
ALL future ILUG posts for any traces/combinations/versions of 'M$'/'MS' in
headers & body of msgs and will deliver it straight to the Trash Can ! So I
bid Adieu to all that is M$ ( Bashing or otherwise ) from my Linux Mailbox
!
#8. Even after this if you feel the need to vent your
anger/angst/dissappoinment at me not being swallowed up by the earth or
something in retribution, feel free to send me private
Hate-Mail/Flames/Trojans/Viruses/Mail Bombs (read the Amateur Anarchist
guide to construct one at home)/Brickbats either at my email address (or
over any media of your choice...).
I merely request you to refrain from polluting our ILUG List with acrimony
