Hi,
the idea of a Linux seminar in Cal sounds great - finally the public
will get to know about the Penguin movement.I'm all for an 'open door, open
forum' type seminar.
Are we going to be including case studies *only*? Indra's suggestion about
demo/workshop sesions sound good.At the last meeting JPM suggested some
common everyday things that a lot of people would like to have explained
(connecting to the Net for one). How feasible is an installfest?
It seems like there will be lots of proposed items on the schedule.I think
that, since this is not going to be a regular affair (or could it be - say
a one or two day seminar session every 2 months or so or something on
those lines??) we could have various items in parallel. This way we could
cover more things and topics within the given time period. One disadvantage
is that some people might have to miss some item in favour of another -
but its an idea.
I know that companies/business'es are going to be the major population at
this type of thing, but I' also like to see a good student crowd.I
certainly hope JU and BE College give a good turnout.I could get in touch
with the CSE guys at Rajabazaar Science College.
Bye,
Rajarshi
