There seem to be different versions of the SiS AGP 6326 running around the
market. Some work out of the box (Very few), some need to be tweaked by a
few parameters (check the archives for Rajat Patni's post for the parameters
2 months back) , some refuse to even start up in VGA mode (apparently the
sis card has some incompatibilities with even VGA mode , or used to when I
last saw the SiS page at Xfree86.org) and some boot up but cannot show any
decent screen properly without creating artifacts -the ugly lines that u
see. try using the options noaccel and sw_cursor. and please *do* read the
archives. The Entire Sis Family has earned itself a bad name in this user
List.

You need to edit the mode line rates and settings in your xf86config file as
per the values xvidtune shows otherwise the settings are valid for that
session only

Try some of the parameters in the card defination using XF86Setup. If you
are lucky , it could work.

There is an option for a virtual desktop size of size 1280x 1024 in the
config file . Edit it to suit your desktop size.

Nothing wrong there. You seem to be in vga mode perhaps?
You are getting a large desktop:-)
This feature is available in the driver utilities of quite a few cards for
Windowz. My present Card - Creative's Graphics Blaster Extreeme allows one
to have different physical and logically sized desktop areas.
If it still does not work , download the SciTech Display doctor for Linux
from the SciTech site and try out the evaluation version. It is a
commercial X Server. The Windows version works like a dream so hopefully
your experience will also be good.
