Hello :
  I luv this RedHat Vs. Slackware stuff.
           RedHat seems to be more commersialised and still is a pure Linux.
Ok, Slackware may be interesting when it comes to installation or so. But in
a nutshell, what are we trying to do is to make Linux popular and widen its
acceptance. With so many big firms (like Oracle, Corel etc) specially
interested in RH, it of course is going to have a wide scope than slackware
or any other flavours. RH 6.0 is still a baby, in near future we may be
having better installation programs for it.
OS gets buggy as we have eager (free) customers who want new release
quickly. But no worries, we have many whiz already working on Linux across
the globe. So solutions to any problems in RH will be provided quickly than
others because of its commercialisation.
As far as Slackware is concerned, it won't be very entertaining
configurating for me, unless I use it daily.
Ask the question to the S.u.S.E. guy, you may get a different answer.
Any SusE guys wanna enter Lunix-varient war ? :-)

Here is why I think its good to have a RH :
* The powerful RPM.
* The kiddo installation program.
* Interest of commercial vendors.
* More packages are available on RH than any other flavours.
* More widely distributed than any.

fall in love...with your girl-friend."
