[ Subject: [ilug-cal] g/troff ]
Does anyone out there do serious text processing with g/troff?
- Manas Laha
I had written some man pages for my software ages ago. And IIRC, man
pages are processed using troff or is it nroff ? Anyway, the book
"TCP/IP Illustrated" was processed using troff before it was sent
for printing (the author has a comment in the prologue saying
'industry strength and serious text formatting should be done with
something that stands up to it - like troff' ). And interestingly,
Addison Wesley had some of the chapters of the book in the soft
unprocessed form lying on the net. I am not sure if it is still
there, but you may want to look it up at their site.
YMMV.

PS: For INDRA - this message will bounce again probably ; simply
because I have totally forgotten what address I had used to
subscribe to the list. Infact, I would support the suggestion that
was made on the list earlier on -about letting any address post but
not subscribe- as that is the policy followed on all the lists I
have come across, and also it becomes difficult to track whether you
are sending the mail from the same address or not when you gave 30
odd email addresses. But then again it is just a suggestion and the
list admin (aka GOD) has the authority to trash it into the dustbin
;)
