Dear members,
As intimated to you all earlier I will possible be out of town for the next
seven/eight days. During this time no
administration of the list will be possible for me to do.
The following members are hereby designated to act on my behalf should any emergency
arise:-
1. Arup Kanjilal,
2. Darshan Shah,
3. Shanker R. Swaminathan.
Should they be required to take any important ad-hoc decision, they should do so after
proper consultation amongst
themselves, and may preferably consult the following senior members who have been
active at every step in the
development of our LUG. This includes:
1. Prof. Partha Pratim Ghosh;
2. Mr. Malay Mitra;
3. Mr. J. P. Mathew; and
4. Dr. Ranjan Ray.
Any decision that requires the acknowledgement of all the LUG members -- should a
situation like that arise, are
requested to be postponed until my return. However, in case it can't be postponed, may
I suggest that the above named
members (all seven) do what they feel is best for the LUG, after proper consultation
with the rest of the members.
The above mentioned folks are also to deal with/respond to any mail from Amlan during
my absence. Once again, please
make sure that a consensus is reached before taking any major decisions. And only one
person should interface with
Amlan to make sure that there is no chance of miscommunication. (Please CC: a copy of
all such mail to me at
[EMAIL PROTECTED])
Should there be any major problems with the list you are adviced to get in touch with
the either Darshan/Arup/Shanker
who in turn will get responsible for getting in touch with Russell
([EMAIL PROTECTED]). However, Russell is
*not* to be bothered with requests like -- "Please subscribe/unsubscribe me... please
change my email address....I'm
not getting any mails"... and the like -- anything like these will be looked into once
I'm back in action.
In case it is absolutely necessary get in touch with me, please email me at
[EMAIL PROTECTED], and not my present
address.
