Dear folks,
Things have been pretty dull lately w.r.t ILUG-Cal's activities. This has
been the first month since our formation in Jan '99 when we didn't have
our regular monthly meeting. In fact one of the older member expressed
to me "ILUG-Cal is getting frayed around the edges, and it would possibly
fall apart soon in the future".
I however, don't subscribe to that negative view. Coz the simple reason
being most of the core members who are involved in arranging the meeting
were too busy with their own business or were out of town.
According to regular schedule our next meeting is on the first Sunday of
Jan, 2k, which falls on the 2nd of Jan. If that date is ok with all (since
many will have to recover from the excesses of the New Year and the
Millenium thing), we will have our next meeting that day.
But here is why this mail is going out.... what do you think of the idea
of organising a picnic/outing for all the members??? This will be a
wonderful opportunity for all our members, particularly the new members to
meetup and get to know each other. Lets let our hair down and enjoy a day
filled with sunshine with just that nip of winter cold, good food (with
some chilled beer ofcourse ;), music, fun & games and ofcourse lots of
free-wheeling geek adda (not necessarily revolving around Linux)...
Lets take a break!! Lets get "Core dumped" for a change!! ;-)
