Dear folks, Please welcome our newest member -- Abjijit Bhattacharyya, who has joined our list today. Abhijit is a Ph.D student in the Physics dept. of JU. His introduction into Linux was by the way of Slackware 3.5 which came in CDs accompanying the Book he purchased from the last Book Fair. He is using Linux for programming in C, C++, Fortran. He uses GnuPlot (BTW, who can tell me what is "GnuPot"?), latex ghostscript, a2ps combo for viewing and finally printing docx on his non-PS DJ690C. Presently, he is looking towards doing Tcl/Tk programming, using xv, and xfig to manipulate pictures dumped from his storage oscilloscope, as well as run programs for neural network algorithm to simulate plasma dynamics of different gases. His future plans include using programs developed on the Linux platform to monitor gas sensors used in his research. He plans to develop programs to control vacuum pumps using X, image grabbing and processing of his newly self-made ccd camera. In the later stage he wants to monitor his RF plasma oscillator, 3-phase variac for his 3KVA DC power supply. OK! thats about it.... welcome aboard Abhijit! --ListAdmin. -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line.
