Hi! Folks, My Linux PC is on a private network and connects to the Internet via a (Linux) router using IP masquerading. Things mostly work fine. But I have a problem with X and its this. If I wish to run a remote X client, I have to set the value of the DISPLAY environment variable on the remote machine to point to the server running on my local PC. As long as both server and client run on machines that are on the same network, things are fine. But in my case, I am unable to set the DISPLAY variable correctly since I don't know what IP address to give there. Neither my local address (on the private network) nor the address of the router work. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. - Manas Laha -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line. FAQ: http://www.ilug-cal.org/help/faq_list.html
