Wishing a very happy new year to you all... lets hope
that Linux reaches new heights in the new year.
BTW, I finally met with Russell McOrmand on Saturday
(30-12-2000), we (Shanker and Soumit were there also
with me) had a fairly lively discussions about quite a
few things ranging from speed vs. portability of Java,
microcode scheduling and optimization issues, GPL, GNU
philosophies, legitimacy of patent laws and IPR etc.
The meeting was so suddenly arranged and with me being
busy attending the WDC-2000 (Workshop on Distributed
Computing organised by JU CSE Dept), I couldn't invite
more people to the meeting.
Russell has promised me to start a religious war on
the list aka Vi vs. Emacs, once he returns to
Ottawa... :D
Once again, all the best for the new year...
