Hi,
I got a yamaha Xwave3000 soundcard which has a QS3000A chipset.
Sndconfig detects it as Fortemedia fm801 'based' card (i dont understand
why). it suggested me to go to www.alsa-project.org and download its
driver which it claimed is 'generic' and was based in a new concept called
"Advanced Logic Sound Architecture".
I downloaded the drivers,libraries and utilities.
With the help of howtos and documentation, Iwas able to build the driver
and install it.I also set the mixer settings as specified.
The howto told that one can just redirect the sound file to the device and
it will work.However, that didnt happen.
Next, Itried to use the utilities provided and play some file.The utility
reported that it is playing but no sound was actually heard.
Any suggeations or solutions ?
