I had similar problems. In those cases my hard disk was at fault.
Testing revealed bad sectors. Fresh formatting solved the problem only
very temporarily as more of the bad sectors appeared. Finally, I had to
discard the hard disks.
Your case seems different in that you say your disk has no bad sectors.
Motherboard? I don't know. Not enough experience!
