Dear members,
I just came to know abt the untimely passing away of
Ranjan-da from Arup (Kanjilal). I was completely out
of touch with my mails for the last 48 hrs... and I
don't know what to say...
All of us who knew Ranjan-da held him in the highest
regards... He was a very nice person and a thoroughly
"kewl" guy to boot...
Ranjan-da's demise is a grave personal lose to me. I
remember he was particularly indulgent... aatonto
snehno korten aamay, although i cud never explain to
myself why he did...
Even after our regular LUG activities had tapered off,
he would sometimes call me up to find out what i was
up to... he was always very supportive and
encouraging... the last time he called I wasn't at
home.
I thought of returning his call one of these
Sundays... after all i thought... "Ranjan-da to...
du-din pore-o phone korley-o kicchu mind korben na"...
Guess i took him for granted and now can never return
that call....
Yesterday, I was away on a meeting. When I had come
back to office, I heard that Malay-da (Mitra) had
called up... I promised myself to give him a callback
in the evening... but got caught up in work... and
kept procrastinating to myself....
I had been so caught up in my own world. It is sad
that it took Ranjan-da's untimely passing away to make
me realise that. It has been too heavy a price....
My condolences to the bereaved family.
As the LUG co-ordinator, I propose that we all meet at
SXC on the 8th September (Sunday) to re-start our
monthly LUG meetings. IMHO, this is the best way we
can pay our respect to Ranjan-da's memories, by
re-juvenating our LUG of which Ranjan-da was a
founder-member and key pillar of support.
