My father in law frequents a site http://www.anandabazar.com/ which used dynamic fonts. I have not, however, ever seen this work on Linux.
Their help site doesn't help for Linux at all: http://www.anandabazar.com/no_bangla.htm Has anyone got these to work? I've recently installed RedHat 7.2 on a machine so it has Netscape, Mozilla and Galeon installed, none of which load the font properly. The tags are: <link REL="FONTDEF" SRC="http://www.anandabazar.com/fonts/aabpbengali.pfr"> <link REL="FONTDEF" SRC="http://www.anandabazar.com/fonts/aabpbengalix.pfr"> <link REL="FONTDEF" SRC="http://www.anandabazar.com/fonts/aabpbengalixx.pfr"> and <font FACE="Aabpbengali"> The "How to use Dynamic Fonts" page indicates that this format should work in Netscape Communicator: http://www.truedoc.com/webpages/intro/howto_nc.htm I have installed Netscape Communicator 4.78 According to this page, the "Unix" version 4.03 may be the only version that works: http://www.bitstream.com/categories/support/webfont_support/browsers.html Unfortunately, that binary-only distribution is for Libc5 which I don't have on any of my computers to even test. If you have a solution, an article describing this would make a good addition to the website ;-) Maybe if it is really well written that sites like http://www.anandabazar.com/no_bangla.htm will just link to you. --- Russell McOrmond, Internet Consultant: <http://www.flora.ca/> See http://weblog.flora.org/ for announcements, activities, and opinions Oppose DMCA in Canada!
