ofcourse they do work atleast in my case it worked. those street side will ask you to pay Rs.100 / gb. but as i said before and repeating once again that _Luck_And_Bargain_Is_Yours_. you have to take risk if you want. atleast with my hard disk i perform a lot of rnds.
