can some one please provide me step to give loop back device support to kernel after creating bzImage? i've done following steps after creating bzImage :-

1. make modules and make modules_install.

2. copied it to /boot as vmlinuz-test.

3. created a soft link of vmlinuz-test to vmlinuz.

new kernel survived and working after a boot though some small problems are there, but when ever i tried to mount loop back device in any directory it is issuing an error message stating that kernel does not have loop back device support compiled in it. what could be the problem? next time i'll give the following supports to kernel before and after compilation.

1. i'll give initrd, fat, msdos support (currently it has only ext2/3).

2. MAKEDEV under /dev.

do you guys have any idea about this? give me the command to use insmod to install loop.o. may be am using a wrong systax.

regards
