Hi Indra Da This planning is really great. I would express my deep honour for ILUG-Cal and would like to enroll myself within this frame of diverse future plan. All though I feel I know very little about Linux, but my job forces me to be a practical user of Redhat Linux in admin level. I am really getting curious more and more about it.
I would really express my wish to be in a active role I this future plan of expansion. I will surely be a Shibpur BE College on 26th. if it happens with some friends I mea Linux Users - so please confirm me the time and which department of SBE College. It would be co-ordinating with all the other sub-committees to ensure planning is carried thru to the final execution. > > The Media Relations sub-committee would be focussed towards creating awareness among the media at least 2 months before the event. This group's activities would be really crucial in drawing in the crowds. The group should try to have articles published in various newspapers and mags abt Linux in general and ILUG-Cal in particular... and ensure coverage of the actual event. > > The various TV news channels/production houses have to be approached in advance to ensure TV coverage of the event. Just a suggestion.. to the general people User Groups like ours are a novelty.. so why not ask them (TV channels) to cover one of our upcoming meetings as part of a general interest story in some news magazine program?? > > We need to approach the schools and colleges in the months of July and August informing them and asking them to send over their interested students. We need to tap the user-base in JU and Rajabazar Science College... they can be invited to send deligates/exhibitors to the event. JU in particular has been having a serious user-community inside the campus... we shud also approach IIMC... > > We also need to invite the ppl from the IT industry and seek their active participation.. better still if we have a few IT companies demo-ing their products and services at our exhibition. Some time back I had come to know that some of the COMPASS folks had expressed serious interest in participating in workshop style programmes on Linux... afterall more assembled PCs or local branded PCs that gets shipped with Linux installed... more power to the Source!!! :-) > > Just a few thots that I felt shud be shared at this moment when everyone is really excited abt getting ILUG-Cal rolling ahead with full steam... we would need at least 3 - 4 months to work all these out... so lets get cracking... what say??? > > cheers, > --indra. > > > > > > > -- > To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body > "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line. > FAQ: http://www.ilug-cal.org/help/faq_list.html > -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line.
