The books are written by authors across the world.

Not only does "price differentiation" exist across countries, it exists
across town. If you don't believe look at the price tag of a Levi's 501 in
a Sears store and the same at Neiman Marcus. In a India "price
differentiation" exists across time and across the percived economic ability
of the buyer.

I suppose we may be computer enthusiasts but we are not micro-economists.

Are these books written in India, or written in the USSA?

Price-differentiation between countries never works - if you try to sell
the same good in different countries at different prices, you will end up
with a grey-market as people export from the lower-priced country to a
higher-priced one.

The solution to the problem is for people in India to be purchasing
software produced in India. And of course the best way to do that is with
Free Software ;-)
