Where exactly is this kppp. I have hunted in all the 3CDs, but have failed to locate it. There is no 'rp3' for gnome also, as in RH7.2. I am dialing using 'net_monitor'. It is available on the KDE desktop and in /usr/sbin. IMO, MDK people have decided that there shall be no stand-alone computers and therefore have not given any dial-up facilities with 8.2. This net_monitor is a peculiar arrangement, its indications are exact opposite of what it does, eg. after connecting to internet, it will inform you 'failed to connect'. When disconnecting, it will tell you 'failed to disconnect'. It was utterly confusing in the beginning, now I have adjusted myself. For installing programs use 'software manager'. It will be found in the KDE menu --> configuration --> packaging. Has an intelligent edge over the package manager in the RH 7.2. That's all.
