hi, well this is my first post to ilug-cal and i immediately went ahead to post my first problem !!!
This is generally a qmail-LDAP problem and i will be really thankful if anybody comes forward to solve it!!!! It all started with qmail installation for my computer. It went along fine with a little problems initially. Then i tried to integrate with vpopmail and courier-imap and that too i was able to install and configure it within a very short time. After that came the most difficult part, as we linux geeks are not satisfied and OUR DIL MAANGE MORE!!!! this time i wanted to integrate qmail with OpenLDAP. I set up the OpenLDAP server and also qmail. I followed the documentation in http://www.lifewithqmail.org/ldap/ & http://www.nrg4u.com/qmail/QLDAPINSTALL The problem here is qmail-pop3d is not able to do authentication with LDAP database. I am able to telnet my pop3 box, but when i supply the user ID and password, it displays the message "-ERR unable to contact authorization server" It is probably due to the fact that pop3d is unable to make a connection to the authentication server which is LDAP and in LDAP the passwords are encrypted in binary form. I am using "auth_pop" instead of the conventional "checkpassword". Can anybody throw light on this!!!! atanu __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
