Printer support in Linux is through Ghostscript: you create a PostScript file, let Ghostscript translate it into a language your printer understands, and send that off to print. Ghostscript supports a few NEC and Epson compatible dot-matrix printers (at least version 5.50 does). It is possible to make the invocation of Ghostscript transparent to the user by writing appropriate filters for the printer software. The Printing-HOWTO tells all. - Manas Laha -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line.
