Dear Friends,
I was looking at this thread, and was getting pretty bored.
The e-mail is supposed to be a quick way to pass out information,
in a manner quite unformatted. If, need arises to pass on something in a
formatted way then one can understand the necessity for such mails of
which HTML is one (although the quality of formatting is still very very
primitive). Thus, in passing out plain and simple conversation, I do not
quite understand the necessity of such a long thread on the use of HTML
mails. I think it should be pretty clear that one we should stop this
thread immediately and decide in favor of plain text mails.
What do we do if need arises for formatted text ? I can provide
another simple solution to this. Please compose your formatted text in
TeX/LaTeX, send the ascii .tex file as an attachment or copy it there
with a note on the part that is under TeX/LaTeX. This shall solve the
problem of sending formatted material as well as reduce the bandwidth.
Please give this a thought. I know I am quite drastic at times,
please do bear with me; and it is better we concentrate on the much more
creative aspects.
