else
follows in the same way.

I have sent the proposal to RMS, who will get back soon. Meanwhile
keep me informed about any possibilties there. A well publicised
public meeting will be good, with a meet the press event after the
talk. and then one or two closed door meetings with the Govt (CM,
Ministers or/and Anil Biswas etc.), and other free software companies
in Calcutta. I or another board member of FSF-India can either
accompany him or come there separately depending on where RMS will be.
Presently he is going to Bangalore and GOA. This is necessary to keep
the contacts and programmes continue in future.
For the expenses and all you may have to ask the state govt, as it
happened say in kerala before. They have actually announced him as
State Guest. It depends on what kind of lobbying you can do. Usually
the expenses are to take care of the travel within India (say from GOA
to Calcutta to Delhi) for RMS and one FSF-I board member, and local
hospitality. The local user group may identify all sources and make
this happen.
FSF-India has managed a good begenning and started working with Kerala
Govt. and is keen to do the same in West Bengal. Being a very stable
left govt a lot could be achieved in Bengal if we begin working with
them.
best wishes
