hmm .. point to ponder !
just imagine .. if we had only serial port printers .. no parallel ports (no, don't raise eyebrows .. i have some very high tech tablet pc's .. P1 processor .. but no parallel port as a standard port .. needs an expansion docking station !) we still would print .. but very very slowly ! to get things done a bit fast .. i use and urge to use all options .. not only ONE option this eternal fallacy of selecting for only ONE out of MANY options is absurd .. and the fierce debates that we see everywhere results only in a lot of cacophony .. no work gets done .. usually .. and we have flames and battles and wars and egos and .. and .. and .. and the ultimate absurdity .. to get a thing done, it is so much discussed, that it never gets done .. which incidentally is the VERY purpose of the discussion .. to get it done .. but the discussion itself defeats the purpose .. and ensures that the thing NEVER gets done to get linux anywhere .. we need ten times more exposure than all the three forthcoming fairs (book fair, compass, industrial fair) but even for compass .. if i suggest that we should have participation in ALL three venues : NSIS, Sangam Hall AND Ice Skating Rink .. i am sure there will be tons and tons of debates .. to determine ONLY ONE venue .. NO ONE cares to even think that all three venues should and can be used, far less agree to one who does think so .. and can make it happen too ! and yes, while at it .. haven't you noticed my almost complete silence .. all the wise old men of ilug-cal don't initiate .. they only comment on my proposals .. how long do you think i'll endure and bear and tolerate non-cooperation, opposition, criticism .. of the senseless kind ? i am still looking for at least one reason that gives me ANY gain of ANY kind for pursuing a thankless task which no one else will pick up .. even when shown the way .. and encouraged to emulate, copy, follow ??? ----- Original Message ----- From: Raja Guha <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Saturday, October 26, 2002 5:47 AM Subject: Re: [ilug-cal] About cabbages and perls . . . > pksharma wrote: > > dunno abt that 'love it' thing > > > > didn't 'love it' .. too long actually > > > > ..pk > > well he goes with the "we should have this AND we should also have that" > line of thinking that you have often espoused. > > raja > > > > > -- > To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body > "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line. > FAQ: http://www.ilug-cal.org/help/faq_list.html > -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line.
