Hi joy,
It's called "Harddrake" in mandrake system.
It is the standard hardware configuration and
recognition program. Through an init script it checks
up your harware on each boot('kudzu mode'). You may
turn it off if your hardware configuration does not
change on a regular basis. Through "Mandrake control
center" graphical interface you can call harddarake to
change/know your harware status. From the shell prompt
issue the command "mcc" to do the same job.
Nice to know that your system is running fine.
Happy linuxing in mandrake style.

bye
siddhartha
