LOSS [Free/Libre Open Source Software] initiative

Sarai/CSDS, a Delhi based research network that realises the potential of Free/Open Source software, is offering small grant [in three categories of under Rs10,000, Rs10,000-30,000 and Rs30,000-60,000] for those willing to write socially useful programmes and put these out in the public.

Ownership of these programmes will remain with its writer[s], under GPL or similar suitable license, but the coders will undertake to widely distribute and make available their work to whosoever desires to use the same.

Email in your plans and suggestions via email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and mail a copy to Frederick Noronha <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>. This should contain the following details:
1. Outline of project
2. How this project would be relevant to society's needs.
3. Stage of the project [if work is underway].
4. Time frame required for completion.
5. Whether work will be singly, or if jointly, names of all individuals/groups to be involved.
6. estimated number of man-hours for completion of this project.
7. Estimated cost with break-up.
