Hi, Thanks for the info. well, if it matches up with Sony's clie and IBMs lineup they should try and export. The market for those runs around $400 here. But you probably need a colour screen. Whats the processor performance, cf say the Sony clie. Whats the battery life like ? One grouse some people had was that the battery ran out pretty fast on the Sony clie.
Some people I know think a PC-like handheld is overkill, better to have a fancy phone with web surfing capability so you can look at stock prices etc, and get CNN. (Irrelevant : Me, I'm happy with the Visor 8MB.) -kg On Sun, 3 Nov 2002, Indranil Das Gupta wrote: > Handheld computing for one... a fairly robust thin client... wireless > connectivity/smart-card integration options possible... replacement of bulky > PCs where the requirement is mostly of information submission and retrieval, > without requiring too much of further host-based processing. > > Besides Promod Mahajan is trying to waive all duties on PCs or PC based > appliance with >10K INR prices. > > --indra. > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Kaushik Ghose" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Sent: Sunday, November 03, 2002 5:35 AM > Subject: Re: [ilug-cal] Indian handheld linux (fwd) > > > > HI, > > I've been hearing about this device for a while, and I can't figure out > > the market.
