Yeah that's a great idea, running Linux off a CD so as to avoid the (so called) hassles of installing Linux. I don't think that without getting sponsors, we can afford to give out CDs. At least something like selling CDs at their cost price. Speaking of sponsors, I don't know how much progress has been made. Can I suggest LG as a potential sponsor? There was an article not long ago in the Times of India re: LG plans to introduce Linux based low cost computers. We seriously need to have sponsors, before we start thinking of giving away stuff. Oh, by the way, I don't think my idea re: the artist tux found favour. But if it did, will the lug's official artist tux plz. stand up, and take responsibility ?
I would like to request that the "Training classes" for the volunteers, be held in the second half of December, or preferably first week of January. That's b'coz my semester exams will be going on in December. Soumyadip Modak RCC Institute of Information Technology Kolkata, India Ps: Mr. Sharma talked about volunteers indicating their choice of specialization in Linux. About the only field I can think of for myself is "Installing Linux for dummies". :) I'm sorry, I'm not much good in anything else. -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line.
