Hi ,
        If Kudzu is working all the time then it is probable that when you remove the 
nic card kudzu also uninstalled the driver , if not then it is still there 

or may be your card is not supported. check your card manual if there is any 
driver name for linux if so try insmod drivername or modprobe driver name.
