What follows is a beta version of the set of
guidelines
for volunteers in COMPASS.
I am sure the list is incomplete. We need to finalise
it soon.
Please add /delete /edit points to the list.
Guidelines for volunteers in COMPASS
------------------------------------
Definition:
Our volunteers are individuals who donate
time and skill to ilug-cal but are not bound to do
so under any written law.
Protocol:
During COMPASS exhibition each volunteer is expected
to follow a set protocols given below.
1. Every volunteer must have a pre defined task. By
pre defined
we mean that every volunteer should know what s/he
would do
next.
2. If there is any dress code for the exhibition,
then their
uniform must conform to the dress code except for
some exceptional
circumstances.
3. Every volunteer must confirm their availibility
during the event
'n' days before the start of the event. The value
of 'n' will be
decided shortly.
4. No volunteer should load a pirated or unlicenced
copy of any
software in any of the machines of ilug stall.
5. No ridiculing or bashing of Microsoft or any other
commercial
software firm under any circumstances.
6. Volunteers must know of each others area of
specialisation (like
networking, games, etc.) and if the crowd shoot
any question
volunteers must be able to redirect to the right
person.
7. Volunteers must not quarrel or fight among
themselves during the
exhibition. Any difference of opinion must be
resolved quietly
without a chaos.
8. Volunteers must be aware that ilug-cal will not
take any
responsibility if any commitments are made to some
person in the crowd
to offer some kind of help not possible to provide
through the mailing list.
(Example: going to someones house and instaling
