> HI ALL > > I WANT TO KNOW ABOUT CLUSTERING ON LINUX . I HAVE 4 PC IN MY HOME EACH > PIII, 256 MB RAM , 20/40 GB HDD <j/k> You can surely be up to no good with 4 systems like that at home without an idea how to cluster them ;-) <j/k> I remember playing with Mosix a long time back. .. things have definitely advanced quite a bit from there on. Some time back I had worked briefly on a proposed design of a HA system for a local utility major using LVS in combination with a FT/Distributed FS. Ultimately, the clustering technique used will be based on what objective you want to achieve thru utilising the cluster. You need to state ur objective (applications/services your want to run on the cluster) to suggest any specific approach. For starters, you can begin with looking around http://lcic.org/ & http://linux-ha.org/ Mosix is at http://www.mosix.cs.huji.ac.il/ openMosix http://openmosix.sourceforge.net/ and ofcourse Beawulf at http://www.beawulf.org but for really looking around for info, the best bet would be http://www.google.com/search?q=Linux+clustering and then RTFMing. :-) hth, --indra. -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line.
