This is actually a bit dated news, some of you may have already read abt this.

It seems that IBM is not so inclined to push the Itanium-2 64-bit CPU from
Intel, preferring their own Power CPU, also 64 bit, as the preferred way to
embrace Linux on the 64-bit platform. Since IBM is emerging as principal
heavyweight in terms of Linux servers shipped (Q4 2002 data for US), this is
particularly interesting news. The following article also talks about the
emerging policies of Dell, HP etc. There are some really interesting tidbits of
informations in the story.
