I was quite surprized of seeing the participation of the students of
Heritage Institute of Technology. I am the final year(8 th sem) student
of Haldia Institute of Technology. I notice that most of the students(even of Computer Sc. & Engg.) are quite reluctant to develop their knowledege in Linux, because they think that Linux is very complex as well as it is not user friendly.Though they are wrong !
We actually have various commands of linux and shell programming in our 4th semester course. A very few students actually do some shell programming and others copy from them.
Students basically learn and get interested to linux in 7 th sem as they have to develop various programming aspcts(PHP, Gtk+,QT etc.).
I am thinking of arranging a seminar in our institute for popularizing
linux among the students of 2nd and 3rd year. And for this,I wish to have
the members of LUG-Kolkata chapter to stand beside me. Please tell me,
how should I proceed ?
