leaving that aside, in the initial stages, the senior members in charge providing direction to the LUG chose sumeet as the meeting convenor. however as this thing is snowballing, sumeet is very conspicious by his silence, while 2 of his friends are taking personal potshots at all and sundry. the senior members along with sumeet not condoning these acts give ample credence to the suspicion that this is being tacitly supported as well as encouraged. this is not the way an user group should be functioning. people are being asked to prove their credentials, provide evidence of their activities. we do not live under a fascist regime that we need to do so at every step. moreover, how can members come in touch, if no member attendence was taken and also there was no meeting. admitting at this late stage that things were wrong sounds good but all this after slandering everyone in sight and sneakily suspecting everybody to be a double agent is demeaning, degrading and humiliating. i surely did not expect this to be happening. it is time that the concerned members who are well wishers of the LUG spoke up against such indecent acts. runa, in one mail raises a valid point as to the *gender policy* of the LUG. in these troubled times, such a parameter needs to be in place. as well as explicitly stating out how far can members badmouth one another [if at all]. these are troubled times for the LUG, but properly handled and the rampaging members being made to understand that this is not their local area courtyard where they can foul mouth every passing person. the LUG charter made it out to be a forum where propagation of Linux was the main issue. it never spelt out that slandering was encouraged and supported from the top down. i am deeply disappointed in the silence of the LUG individuals who have allowed it to come this far. hope you do get some fun out of insulting people personally. deeply disappointed in seeing that the LUG is running astray. rajib debnath __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
