Dear Members, Many had choosen to be automatically subscribed from our stall during COMPASS 2003. Several of these would-be members had submitted REDIFFMAIL.COM email address.
Rediff mail refuses to accept mails from this domain, and says we are in its "bad rcpthost list" As a CAUCE-India member, I did manage to go pretty high up to seek redress of this fact, but Rediff turned out to be a deaf and dumb case. I even heard the horror stories (from guys who actually set up the rediff servers) that *even* inside rediff domain, the servers at times forget that they are supposed to relay between each other.. i.e. rediff.com and rediffmail.com! go figure! The reason for this difficulty is the result of a lawsuit was filed against RBL in US counts and ISPs having modified how they handle spam/potential spam these days. Several members of this LUG has friends and acquintances who are having rediff/rediffmail IDs and are not getting mails from the list, please inform your friends to do either of the following: [1] Unsubscribe their rediff/rediffmail.com address (only valid for ppl with non functional rediffmail addresses) & resubscribe using a different email address (non rediff/rediffmail) OR [2] Mail me offlist at [EMAIL PROTECTED] with their alternative email address. I'll take care of it. OR [3] Majordomo inserts a header "Precedence: bulk" this may cause some web-based, free email service provider to treat these mails as potential spam and dump these into the bulk mail/trash folder and NOT into the Inbox. Please check if this, generally the services provide the user with a option to mark mails from a certain location as non-spam. If required please make this adjustment.
