I do not have personal experience with Samsung but i do have lots of experience of using HP printers - both at home and at office. At home i use HP DJ 200 (not available anymore) but the most pleasant surprise was that it was properly configured with SuSE 8. Chances of finding Linux drivers for HP Printers IMHO are far greater than that of Samsung.
Print quality for HP is excellent as compared to Epson (way bottom in my list). As for durability my HPDJ 200 was purchased in 1996 and is still going strong. Given the huge base of installed HP printers consumables are far easily available for HP than for any other brand.
On the negative side the cartridges of HP are mite costly than the rest. If you are thinking of using refilled cartridges then forget HP.
On the whole i would suggest HP

Folks,
I have to buy a personal laser printer. The choice is between the HP Laserjet 1200 and the Samsung ML-1210. I am particularly concerned about
a) print quality b) durability of the printer c) compatibility with Linux and d) cost of consumables.
I'd be glad to have information about first hand experience with these printers.
