you could do this in almost any linux distro by adding a
/etc/hosts.equiv or .rhosts file with appropriate entries 
I am not sure what MDK is using, maybe some PAM roundabouts. I think it
is a good thing . 
Sometimes we use linux in embedded , or firewalled situations where
people are not so paranoid about security ; in those cases such a nift
feature, especially for home users is might convenient.
