Respected members of the forum,
This is Subhobroto Sinha (aged 18 yrs) who lives in
Salt Lake, and develops Open source solutions using
Visual c++.
The reason for this post is well, not quite Linux
oriented - really - I require Visual Studio Service
Pack 5.
I presume that most of you subscribe to PC Quest
and/or develop software solutions using Microsoft
Visual Studio.
In the April 2003 issue of PC Quest, they gave out
Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 5.0
As I was busy with my board examinations then, I
missed out on a copy. And as the Service Pack is >
100MB , downloading it from Microsoft's site through
my modem is out of the question !
I really require the Service Pack which addresses A
LOT of BUGS in Visual Studio 6.0, specially in MFC and
ATL.
I am sorry that I am not really proficient enough in
Linux to program on the platform, but after I finish
my graduation, I hope to, and I will.
I hope that I will get your cooperation.
Perhaps you can treat me like a Microsoft based
counterpart in the Open Source movement ! Surely, Free
software is NOT limited to Linux only - it's ONLY
dependent upon the programmer!
Looking forward to people who might share (or rent out
for an hour) the second disc of PC Quest's April 2003
issue.
I promise that the disc will be handled, transported
and returned with GREAT care.
If it's OK with you, I am ready to come personnaly to
some place where it is most convenient for you, if you
are willing to help me out !
(I have already queried Mr Pranab Das, the Kolkata
distributor of PC Quest, and he informed me that no
extra issue is available.)
So If ANYBODY does have Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0
SP5 or PC Quest April 2003 CD2 - please contact me.
May I make you aware that distributing Service Packs
for Microsft products is NOT illegal.
So don't worry about being labelled a pirate and being
behind bars!
Thank you for going through this mail. Cheers.
Subhobroto Sinha [pro-Open source fanatic ;) ]
