Dear members, First off, my apologies to all who may not be able to attend tomorrow's meeting due to the late announcement of the finalized timings by Soumyadeep Modak (current meeting co-ordinator).
As I had communicated earlier on this, JU requires any external entity to make a formal application to the University for using its premises as a venue for reasons like ours. Although the verbal approval was there all along, the final formal OK was there by today 2 PM. There was another hitch, the difficult in bringing in and taking out our own hardware to be used for the meeting. Apparently its a fairly cumbersome process, requiring the approval of the several persons in key administrative positions. This too has been informally resolved, thanks to mediatation of our fellow LUGger and JU Pro VC Dr A. R Thakur. However the formal approval aka Gatepass will be issued tomorrow and Soumyadeep will be doing all the legwork armed with the necessary application and h/w inventory that I've drawn up on-behalf of the LUG. Since this is the first time we are shifting to a new venue, these problems are evident. However, we can expect far smoother meeting preparation from next month onward. Hoping to see a lot of you there tomorrow.
