Hi, After a long time, I bought myself a Microsoft product - a Microsoft Multimedia keyboard. (some of the keys in the old kbd was not working - I could live without a backspace but not without with | ;-) It's quite a fancy keyboard (I had to RTFM to get the function keys working ;-)
It has a number of "Multimedia keys" (with controls like Play/pause/mute/next/prev/vol up/vol down) and "Hot keys" marked Mail/Web browser, etc. To be very honest, I did not expect any of them to work under Linux. Put I was in for a pleasant surprise - just for fun - I started up the "Multimedia Keys" thingy in the GNOME Control Center, and it somehow, to my utter disbelief, detected *each and every* fancy key out there!! Kudos to the developers of ACME (which is actually the "Multimedia Keys" app). Now, I can start up Evolution, Epiphany, Totem, control the volume, control playback in Totem with a single keypress. Nice.... Thanks to the developer again (Can we have an extra entry for a Logout action??) . -cheers- Sayamindu -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line.
