Hi samkupar, I set up my ethernet card which was automatically detected during installation... I put in the values of IP address, net mask, Gateway, primary and secondary DNS (The same values worked perfevtly with windows)
and then chose default firewall rules and medium security level.. I am yet to connect to the internet using Redhat9; however I can connect easily using windows.. Some members had suggested putting in some shell commands: the problem is I am not very adept at using these commands, especially those that deal with administration and installation.. But I sure will have to give a try.. By the way I just finished installing Red hat 9 and Windows on my primary hard disk, loading the GRUB bootloader in the MBR.. The system is working fine.. I thank all ILUG members who helped me with their inputs and insights. Best wishes.
