Both are known to be 'dangerous'... the book says so.
Actually I tried to install it in the last logical drive of a msdos partition table with two primaries and three logical in all. Is Mandrake's partitioning tool better than parted-1.6.9?XP-partition. It will be of some interest to rewrite the script to allow for installation in any msdos partition table atleast, especially since it is meant for newbies.

I didn't quite get your point, are you suggesting UMSDOS install support ? Or just plain FAT/NTFS partition management. Hint: You might be interested in using Mandrake's partition tool. Just grab the first cd from someone (I don't have Mandrake)
Again Knoppix-3.2/3 uses lilo which is less safe than grub.
