I think that you could read my question again. I was asking about the status of the work being considered as *derivative*, *compilation* or *combination*. It seems that in the URLs already provided in the earlier mail of mine, the counsel for FSF [Eben Moglen] does a nice job of defining the lack of clarity on the issue in GPL.


As for *strategic difference* between GPL and LGPL, the big *hole* regarding dynamic linking arises from the very fact that dynamic linking as a concept was not around (possibly) when GPL was being conceived.

Hope that clears doubts about whether I had referred to FSF site for answer clarification.
