you wrote unable to use ping. When you use ping at the
command prompt what message you get?
you might have excluded the TCP/IP suite during
installation. You need to install the TCP/IP suite.
Another possibilty is you have installed TCP/IP suite,
inspite you are unable to ping a certain host. Try to
ping 127.0.0.1 or the host itself.
