Hmmm... weird Basically here's what I do to get XDMCP working between FC2 and some other GNU/Linux box. 1. Disable firewall 2. Run gdmsetup and enable XDMCP 3. Run GDM in the other system, and tell it to search for XDMCP servers in the network 4. Log in via that. You can do this before trying GNU/Linux - Windows connectivity.
