Hi All: Thanks to Sankarshan for the request to put up the slides at a public server. I have complied. Here is the link:
http://www.sharemation.com/~arinbasu/Rintroweb.ppt?unq=lateue The reason I am kind of forced to use MS products (including Windows) is, following a hard disk crash, I failed to reinstall any flavor of Linux in my non Windows partition (after the hard disk was replaced and Windows XP Pro was installed by the Compaq engineers here). My earlier Fedora core I CDs did not pass media test this time, and I just failed (plain failed) to load SuSE and Mandrake. Last one was Knoppix, promising when run from the CD, but hdinstall, and it took like forever to transfer the packages, after which, it too gave up. Wasting two sundays, I decided to temporarily use Windows to get my work done. I'd now like to try Gentoo ...:). Can any kind soul please provide me Gentoo Stage 3 Universal LiveCD with Packages CD? From theh Gentoo website, that seemed to be the optimum option for a newbie like me. Would greatly appreciate. /Arin --- Sankarshan Mukhopadhay <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Arindam Basu wrote: > > > http://www.aloofhosting.com/arinbasu/Rintroweb.htm > > > Arindam, > > Would it be a bit too much to ask you to put them up > as slides for > download ? > > Online browsing is something that (I would guess) a > most of us are > unable to do. > > Thanks for putting them up.
