Let me make it clear that I'm writing this in my capacity as a member of ILUG-Cal and nothing more. WBUT website is hosted on a Windows box (standard shared hosting), and yes its mostly IE only. Its sometimes a pain to view on Mozilla. However, in the real world, as opposed to the rosy-tinted world of FLOSS philosophy, there are certain constraints one has to live with. In the real world, there are things like contracts and a time-periods for those contracts -- that means WBUT has to stick with their webhost till their contract expires + there is a contract with the outsourced agency who manage and maintain the site on behalf of WBUT. Plus look at the bigger picture, WBUT uses the website for download of forms, publication of results etc. The thousands of students who view these from cybercafes or their home PCs are mostly on Windows and IE. Sometimes, FLOSS isnt the immediate answer to a problem. Change takes time. Policies are direction markers in times of change. By themselves they arent the vehicles of change. cheers, -indra. > -Pinaki. -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line.
